We can’t deny that there are many promising budding actors who are rightfully making a name for themselves in the performing industry. It has become easy to be discovered through social media, but back in the day, agents must chance upon a walking talent that would be the next big star.
While young stars are worth celebrating, we can’t forget about those whose heydays are long over. They are the ones who people probably thought have already passed away but, thankfully, were only busy with their endeavors. Let’s find out what they have been busy with these days.
Petula Clark (Born In 1932) – Downtown
Dubbed as Britain’s Shirley Temple, Petula Clark started her career when she was just nine, singing for the troops during World War II. Soon, her talent attracted agents that introduced her to the mainstream industry, becoming a regular guest in radio shows in the ‘40s and ‘50s.
Her illustrious career saw Clark starring in many films and shows and releasing chart-topping hits; she may be most remembered for her song “Downtown.” These days, we don’t get to see much of this stellar performer, but she still performs, including in 2021 when she played the Bird Woman in the “Mary Poppins” stage play.
