4 Tips To Make Your Day Longer

We have 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in one minute, meaning that time is measured and quantified equally for everyone. However, that won’t matter much to people who feel like time is passing by too quickly and as a consequence, they are unhappy.

There are some activities we engage in that make us feel like time is moving slower, and there are activities that make it seem like the hands of the clock are moving a little too fast. Many of us would like to enjoy our time and make the most of it, savor the present and take in each moment. With that being said, this article will share four tips to help make your day longer.

Set Your Alarm

Setting your alarm clock to wake you up is extremely important because it ensures you start your day on time instead of waking up to find yourself racing against the clock. It is always best to go to bed early so that you will be refreshed and not wake up groggy-eyed when the alarm rings. That way, you can quickly get out of bed, get your day started on the right foot and as a result, get more work done.

Prioritise Your Work

One reason why we often feel like time is passing by too quickly while we work on a specific task is that we often have important work to complete, and it seems almost impossible to do so within the deadline. In such instances, it’s important to prioritize your work and focus on the most important tasks first.

Make Sure You Are Not Distracted

Once you’re at your work desk and ready to get started, make sure that there are absolutely no distractions to sidetrack you. You might find it helpful to look for a private workspace, turn off your phone, and dedicate your attention and time expressly to the task at hand. This way, you will finish on time and even have more time on your hands for extra-curricular activities.

Set Pre-Planned Breaks and Rewards

The prospect of a reward often makes working easier and entices the workers to work in a more productive fashion. It might be wise to apply this philosophy to yourself too–set pre-planned breaks and rewards for milestones you achieve. For instance, if you are a writer who has been assigned a particular task within a particular timeframe, you can set a milestone for every phase you complete and reward yourself with a short YouTube video or a nice snack. This will help you focus on the next milestone instead of simply giving up when you feel tired.
