For some, dating is a pretty daunting task in and of itself. It just comes with too much responsibility! We mean, leaving a decent impression on your "might be" significant other or getting to know your date up-close and gelling with them for good can be a totally nerve-wracking experience, no matter how smooth your pick-up game is. You’d want to dress smart, sound intelligent, turn on your charm, be a little humorous and make it all look effortless. Not sure about you guys but the prospect is enough to leave the best of us shaking in our boots.
There are numerous people out there who get butterflies in their tummies just thinking about going on dates. So have you ever thought about why this happens? Why is it that we sometimes get so nervous when going on dates?
It’s Quite the Dilemma!

Even if it's a subsequent or second date with that exact same person, some of us still feel anxiety or a sinking feeling in our stomach when meeting someone special. Experts say having those nervous moments is perfectly normal. In fact, it's good to feel that way since it brings so much clarity of thought but if those nerves are too much for you to handle, you might want to address the elephant in the room a little bit.
Are You Thinking Too Far in A Relationship?
Experiencing first-time dating jitters is a good sign. It shows that you're actually interested in commitment and really care about what the opposite party thinks of you. You must give it your all to make him/her feel special on that first date, but remember, you don't want to come across as someone trying too hard. Sometimes guys and girls start thinking too ahead in a partnership which is a big no-no, especially if you’ve only known that person for a short while. If you’ve already made a blueprint of your future with the person sitting in front of you, you’re doing it all wrong and triggering your nerves for no good reason.

How to Calm Your Dating Jitters
If that first or the subsequent date is way too important to you, there are a bunch of things you might want to do before showing up at the designated address. For instance, if you have plans for the evening, right after your office hours, you might want to consider taking a 20-30-minute break before meeting that special someone. Going from one high-intensity situation to another can cause anxiety and trigger those nerves. Experts also suggest that squeezing in a workout session prior to the date can be a good idea. A good workout session will help in releasing "feel good" hormones and allow you to be more comfortable in your skin.

Most Importantly!
Be yourself. It's the best advice someone could ever give you. If a person is meeting you and taking out the time from their busy schedule, try to be yourself and keep it real as much as possible. Make them feel comfortable, show that you're interested, and leave the rest to fate and in the hands of the gods.
